		<description>Dear Phil,

Thank you for taking the trouble to contact me on this issue which, I know, has caused a lot of worry and concern. I share your concerns regarding the car park, and this has already been brought to my attention.

Regarding a traffic impact study, I do not know if one has been carried out. The Planning Department of Huntingdonshire District Council should have that information.

Your suggestion that the country park would be better serviced from the A1123 sounds sensible, depending on further developments. Another suggestion from someone very close to the site, is that the car park at the Burgess Hall is extended to take over the existing grass area between the current car park and the road to the football stadium.

I guess that no one knows exactly who is likely to use the park most. I would suggest St. Ives residents, but of course, we may find that people from further afield use it. I would be very concerned if there were to be an increase in parking along Westwood Road due to the park, as that is already a major issue.

I would be very happy to meet with you to explore ideas. As I have stated, if elected I will be representing the views of St. Ivians, not the views of a party or my own primarily, and so would be very happy to get your thinking on the proposals for a park.

I can also tell you, that a fellow Town Councillor, who is a Trustee of Nobles Field, has informed me that the Nobles Field Trust has already expressed its concern regarding the proposed car park to the District Council Planning Department.

If elected, I will be very happy to meet with residents in your area of town to talk the proposals and find a way forward.

With very best wishes

<description>I was pleased to receive a copy of your letter the other day regarding the development on the former St Ives golf course.

I am relieved to hear that there will not be any vehicular access to the development via Westwood Road. However, I am equally concerned to see proposals for a country park car park at the end of Westwood Road, as shown on the plan enclosed with your letter. I wonder what thought has been given to the impact this will have on Westwood Road and the Ramsey Road junction. If the purple area shown on the drawing is an indication, it will be the at least the same size as the St Ivo Centre car park and presumably will cater for the same number of cars. It goes without saying that the same concerns will arise over the use of Westwood Road by such traffic as would occur had the new residential areas been serviced from such a road. Do you know if any traffic impact studies have been undertaken for this car park. If they have I should be grateful if you could advise me where I could obtain copies.

It seems to me that a car park for the country park would be better serviced from the A1123 Houghton Hill, especially as new junctions are being formed to accommodate the development. Would you support such a proposal?

I would be pleased to hear your views on the subject and how you would take these forward should you be elected in the forthcoming elections,

Yours
